Malli, a radicalised teenage Sri Lankan who lives with a small terrorist group hiding out in the Sinhalese jungles, is delighted and honoured to be chosen for a suicide mission. But on her journey to the assassination site the people she meets and the time away from the politicising of her group allow doubts to enter her mind and for the first time Malli begins to question her mission. The Terrorist is inspired by the murder of Rajiv Ghandi and is an intense journey, thought provoking and powerfully performed, the character's dilemmas and actions linger in the mind long after the story has reached its conclusion.
