Mitch Preston is a hard nosed LAPD detective who shuns the lime light, Rookie cop Trey Sellers on the other hand craves the attention, and when the two are forced into a partnership on a reality cop show sparks are bound to fly. Showtime is an action, comedy, thriller, and it's exactly the sought of film we increasingly expect to see DeNiro and Murphy in, enjoyable enough and certainly quite pacey but the dictionary definition of generic.
