This is a touching and beautifully crafted drama about a family recovering from loss. Giovanni is a psychoanalyst who compared to his neurotic patients leads a serene and thoughtful life. A death in the family turns it upside down. More than anything, though, this film is about the strength of familial love and is life affirming as a result. The quality of the performances and the lightness of directoral touch make this a drama that will draw you in and that will stay with you long after the credits roll.
