SING AS WE GO (1934)
BASIL DEAN
Plot
With the closure of the mill where she works Gracie takes to her bike and pedals off to seek work in the big smoke that is 1930s Blackpool. A series of humiliations and misunderstandings plague our heroine as she struggles to find a job but in helping her friends and her colleagues "Our Gracie" saves both herself and the day. Sing As We Go is a delightful slice of early comedy-musical, especially written for its star by JB Priestley.
