Will Dormer is a veteran LAPD detective sent to a small Alaskan town (at the height of its 24-hour daylight summer) with his partner to help in the investigation of a teenager's murder. When Dormer's colleague is killed the detective finds himself forced into a psychological game of cat and mouse with the prime suspect while staving off the concerns of a local detective who suspects the death of Dormer's partner may not be as straight forward as he claims. Insomnia is a sophisticated thriller from Christopher Nolan, the man responsible for ‘Memento', with powerful and convincing performances from the three leads.
