Plot

Carla is a secretary and very good at her job, she's also deaf and the butt of her mysogonistic colleagues. When it is decided she needs an assistant Carla is outraged but when her help turns out to be Paul, an ex-thief, she sees the opportunity to level the playing field. All is well until Paul asks her to do something for her, a considerably more dangerous undertaking involving the criminal underworld, and though Carla agrees, her new found empowerment means she's determined not to come out a loser. Read My Lips is a stylish thriller, tense, slick and with two great lead performances.
