Komajuro is the leader of a travelling Kabuki troupe who descend on a small seaside town where Komajuro's former lover still lives, as does his illegitimate son, a rekindling of long lost affection brings on the remorseless wrath of his present mistress and results in a revenge from which none will be left unscarred. Floating Weeds is one of Yasujiro Ozu's final films, a director regarded by many as one of the greatest to bless the moving picture. A haunting and stunning tale.
