Gittel Mosca is a stereotypical resident of Greenwich Village in the 1960's, free spirited, wise but scatty and the quintessential opposite of Robert Mitchum's straight laced lawyer. An accidental friendship quickly develops into love for the mismatched pair, a bitter sweet romance that thanks to the deft adaptation of Robert Wise's Broadway play is both touching and witty.
