Two New Yorkers holidaying in the Scottish Highlands stumble across an enchanted village that exists in this world for only one day every one hundred years. In the short time available to them love blossoms for one of the Americans and a local lass, but how can the couple hope to continue when only a few hours remain? An adaptation of the 1947 Broadway musical, Brigadoon is magical Technicolor splendour, a classic Minnelli musical and an explicit statement about (and partial criticism of) the notion that an artist only lives through his art, preferring its reality to the world's.
