Vic Mackey is the cop that cops come to when the going gets too rough, the leader of a super hard strike team his effectiveness is without question, unfortunately the same cannot be said for Vic's honesty. Vic treads a fine line between patrolling the beat and creaming something tasty off the top of the criminal underworld for him and his boys, an uneasy conflict of interest that his new boss is determined to end. The Shield is a tough atmospheric crime series that dares to imply that a dodgy cop can be an effective cop, his success reliant on the blurred moral boundaries normally only associated with the bad guys.
