Charlie Price has inherited a small shoe making factory on the verge of bankruptcy, their sensible practical footwear out of touch with the demands of modern feet. When a glamouress transvestite offers Charlie an opportunity to reinvent his company's clientele the naïve but good natured young man leaps at the opportunity. Based on a true story, Kinky Boots follows the comfortable tradition of The Full Monty, Calendar Girls and Billy Elliot; easy going, well acted, British comedy drama. Safe and undemanding entertainment that it's difficult not to like.
