WINTER LIGHT (1963)
INGMAR BERGMAN
Plot
The second part, following 'Through A Glass Darkly', of Bergman's trilogy about God's silence. In a cold Swedish vista a widowed village pastor faces his doubts about the existence of god. An offer of marriage by a physically afflicted school teacher and dealing with the problems of a manically depresssive member of his flock don't help him in his quest to find a solution to the meaning of life. Leonard Cohen eat your heart out - New York never gets like this.
