Bruno is a middle-aged, once famous film producer, struggling to revitalise his career with a disastrous film about Christopher Columbus whilst simultaneously failing to rescue his crumbling marriage. As he loses control of his personal and professional life, Bruno unwittingly throws his support behind a young writer's scathing attack on Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi, wrongly at first believing it to be a commercial thriller, but gradually consumed by the story even after discovering that he has in fact entered the brutal world of political satire. Nanni Moretti's first film since the deeply moving ‘The Son's Room', 'The Caiman' is a touching and personal story of one man's struggle to regain control of his life, performed and written with both wit and heart.
