Ismael is the male at the centre of a ménage-a-trois with his long-time girlfriend Julie and his work colleague Alice, but when you have more than you should the result is often dissatisfaction and it is only the full frontal assault of fate that brings the lives and destinies of all into sharp focus. "Les Chansons d'Amour" is a joyful homage to the French New Wave and Jacques Demy's classic "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg", a musical tale of love and longing.
