Lonely, mentally challenged Josie lives in poverty, employed in a little used rural Irish garage, but this is not the pastoral idyll of beer adverts but the real poverty of rural boredom. We follow his banal life, his brief friendship with some local teenagers, his regular visits to feed a horse, the taunts of some of the locals in the bar, his crude attempt at a pass at a female friend in the local pub, and we watch his simple life unravel.
