Plot
Based on a true story, college football hero Ernie Davis, the first African-American to win the Heisman Trophy, was driven to perfection by his hard nosed but colour biased coach. Though dogged by personal and professional tragedy this quiet man became an initially unlikely hero to the incendiary civil rights movement of the 1960s. A moving, if overly sentimentalised, dramatisation of a remarkable man's life.
