New Year's Eve and two middle class families escape from Notting Hill for a weekend in the countryside. Unfortunately for the grown ups their children have caught some kind of virus that turns the little darlings into homicidal maniacs. On the up side everyone who gets horribly murdered in ‘The Children' I would have happily killed myself, given the opportunity. On the down side this is a generic, dull, foolish horror flick that relies entirely on a ‘Daily Mail'-esque paranoia which tells us there is nothing, not even our own five-year-old child, that we shouldn't be s*!t scared of.
