A young 14-year-old Dutch boy, ashamed of his father's cosying up to the Germans, comes across the hiding place of a downed RAF pilot and vows to help him. A boy discovering that war is not a fantasy adventure, game of rugby etc... but this time with a violin so heavily troweled on that you could peel it off.
