Plot

Two men, who loathe each other, one a middle-aged ladies man and the other an insecure millionaire's son, hanker after the gorgeous local TV weather girl in a small town near Lyon. The movie tracks their battle for the girl and their contrasting personalities and backgrounds. The film is loosely adapted from the real life 1905 Manhattan scandal of socialite Stanford White and Henry Thaw, as shown in the film 'Ragtime', and is combined with the traditional tale of a femme fatale playing off two men against each other. The nonagenarian Chabrol shows that he still knows how to film the bourgeoisie. ,
