Plot

Every year Max, a successful hotelier, invites his family and friends to his beautiful beach house. But just prior to their departure a tragedy takes place, and while all suspect in their hearts they should cancel the vacation, they journey to Max’s seaside idyll nonetheless. In the following weeks friendships and affection are put to the test as the groups normally relaxed and harmonious existence becomes increasingly fractious and resentful. From the same director as ‘Tell No One’ this is a finally acted, witty and moving human drama, but, the film is also indulgently overlong and while beading an initially sceptical sight on the middle class bourgeois it ultimately decides to lower the gun and tell us to love them anyway.
