THE DEVIL'S DOUBLE (2011)
LEE TAMAHORI
Plot
Adapted from Latif Yahia’s ‘apparently’ autobiographical novel, we follow him through the hedonistic and sadistic world of Saddam Hussein’s infamous son Uday in the late eighties just prior to the first Iraqi ‘conflict’. Ladif is chosen as Uday’s double and is soon immersed in the insane and narcissistic world of his unhinged employer. Violent, cheesy and slightly mad ‘The Devil’s Double’ is a surprisingly entertaining, though I hesitate to say good, film.
