Emelia is a gifted but emotionally damaged free spirit who drifts into the lives of repressed but driven teenager Beth and her famous author father, Jonathan, a man trapped in interminable writers block. Chaos is what Emelia ultimately brings to this dysfunctional family, but in doing so she also creates an upheaval that all concerned desperately need. Albatross is a nicely performed and filmed drama, and that it doesn’t really go anywhere is not as disappointing as it might have been.
