Deep in the heart of one of Jakarta’s most deprived slums stands an impenetrable high-rise apartment building, 30 floors of Hell to be avoided at all costs, but for the city's killers and gangsters, including the cities most notorious crime lord, it’s home. When an elite squad of SWAT are sent in to clear the place it soon becomes clear what a terribly deadly mistake they have made. There is nothing and I mean ‘nothing’ original about ‘The Raid’; very little plot, not much script and some fairly iffy acting but, and it’s a whopper, The action is blistering and the fight choreography mesmerising; ‘Ong Bak’ in a claustrophobic tower block basically.
