The brothers Bondurant set up as bootleggers in prohibition rural Virginia, life was good. But when the mob and the authorities start to muscle in on the boys’ turf all hell breaks loose. Based on the biographical novel by one of the main character’s grandsons and adapted for the screen by Nick Cave, ‘Lawless’ is an atmospheric, if slightly hollow and very brutal dramatic thriller from the director of ‘The Proposition’. Great sound track mind.
