Franck Khalfoun's ostensible remake of William Lustig's notorious 1980 slasher flick takes its cues equally from Peeping Tom and Enter The Void in this POV-shot shocker about a lonely, deranged young man at the whim of violent, psychopathic urges. Bearing the intensity of producer Alexandra Aja's work in New French Horror, it's an extreme ride for even the most seasoned of horror acolytes, whose aesthetic raises more interesting questions about movievoyeurism than the film's retrograde psychologycan handle.
