Andrzej Wajda directs this biopic about Nobel Peace Prize winner Lech Walesa. A shipyard worker turned human rights activist, Walesa longed for the day when he and everyone else in Poland could stand up to the oppressive communist regime. Walesa eventually made it happen, co-founding the Soviet's first trade union, Solidarity.
