Plot

Hoffman and Beatty play a pair of totally untalented songwriters who, desperate for cash, go on a tour of the tiny republic of Ishtar. Our feckless heroes are quickly recruited as spies for opposing sides of a planned revolution, whilst vying for the favours of a beautiful freedom fighter.
