BARBAROSA (1982)
FRED SCHEPISI
Plot
A superb understated Western drama. Nelson is superb as the grizzled gringo, who has waged a 30 year vendetta with a Mexican family to whom his name, Red Beard, is synonymous with the boogie man, and Busey is the raw, naive farmboy fleeing an accidental killing, and the pair, both outcasts in their own ways, find a strange empathy. Set against the stunning backdrop of the wide Texan outdoors, superbly filmed and perhaps the least known of all the great Westerns.
