Well, he's a bungling private investigator who is put on a case way out of his league when a wealthy heiress is kidnapped. Somehow he manages to cope with all the intrigue and there's certainly no shortage of motives. Not very original comedy, but still very funny featuring the late John Candy doing what he did best.
