An ex-con living rough in Paris is lent some money by a stranger on condition he repays it, when he can afford it, to a particular church. He successfully re-enters the world, but his attempts to do so are repeatedly foiled by a series of mishaps, yet each time the money somehow reappears in his wallet. A surreally amusing film.
