Plot

Francis Ashby is a cloistered Oxford professor who takes himself off on a trip to the breathtaking countryside of Switzerland. While there Francis meets the beautiful young Elinor and her chaperone, Caroline. The stuffy Don finds the women's company a delight, but it is only upon his return to England that he begins to realise how profoundly they have effected him, a sensation compounded when they arrive at his college to see him.
