Jeremy Irons and Juliette Binoche perform a slow and intense dance of passion, with Irons as the slightly wimpish cabinet minister. His obsession with his son's fiancee becomes all consuming and threatens to destroy both his family and career. Intriguing but ultimately slow and unsatisfying.
