Charlton Heston is the only (normal) survivor of an apocalyptic plague that has destroyed mankind. A band of mutants calling themselves the 'Family' believe science and technology to be the cause of the plague. Neville (Heston), as the last symbol of the old world of science, is seen as a threat to the new order. For the mutants, the only way to insure their domination of the planet is to rid themselves of their distructive ancestor. Superb!
