A melancholy and lyrical melodrama that follows the triangular affair of the beautiful Beart, a virtuoso violinist, her lover and his partner. The depth of charcter is superb, and the musical interludes create a wonderful mood, but the denouement leaves one unsatisfied. Intriguing and beautiful.
