A superb dramatisation of the preparations of one young man for the 1944 Normandy landings mixing 50% archived material with 50% contemporaneous material shot using old stock and equipment. Essentially it follows one soldier, Tom, from his call-up to his sad death during the invasion. A moving look at both the triumph and the sadness and a cinematic triumph.
