DON JUAN & AND GOD CREATED WOMAN (1956)
ROGER VADIM
Plot
Two movies for the price of one, both starring the ultimate kitten. The witty, if vapid, And God Created Woman (1956); in Saint Tropez, two fisherman brothers become involved with the same woman and one marries her, but she can't hide her feelings for the other. Roger Vadim's classic exploration of sensuality, a series of semi-nude posturings as the sex kitten flits nymphomaniacally from man to man and back again, became a European cinema sensation upon its release and made Bardot a Gallic icon of the Twentieth Century. While Don Juan (1973) has a more mature Bardot in a predatory role as a female incarnation of the legendary lover.
