After a massacre by the military a terrified Amerindian couple flee the poverty and repression of their village in Guatemala for the land of milk and honey in the north. Crossing the border thru' a rat-infested tunnel they first see LA as a glittering carpet of lights, but are then caught on society's bottom rung. Moving social comment on life as illegal immigrants..
