Plot

Wonderfully whimsical Irish drama with newcomer James Hickey as nine year old Harry. It's 1960's Dublin and the little lad, who lives with mum (Rita Tushingham) and brother Paul, lives mostly in a fantasy world. Convinced he is, in fact, from the planet Mercury, he believes his duty is to keep an eye on everyone else and report, nightly, to his superiors. This means, not surprisingly, that he often falls foul of tiresome earthlings who don't appreciate his magical powers. No great plot twists, but a charming and nostalgic family movie nonetheless.
