All-too-inevitably disappointing sequel to John Landis's 1981 classic comic-horror. This time around, the action begins, pretty impressively too, with an unwilling female werewolf in the shape of Julie Delpy (Killing Zoe, Before Sunrise). Tom Everett Scott is the yankee tourist who finds himself howling at the moon soon after he makes her aquaintance, but who never quite evokes the conspiratorial audience sympathy enjoyed by the original American Werewolf.
