The Belgian beefcake has his first go behind the camera, directing himself (naturally) in an Eastern action-adventure which begins in 1920's New York with lovable rogue Christian Dubois (Van Damme) biting off more than he can chew and stowing away on a slow boat to China. Rescued from a watery grave by Roger Moore (yes, really!) young Christian and winds up being sold to an island full of barbarians, where he's forced to enter an international punch-up with such fearsome opponents as a Sumo wrestler, heavyweight boxer, Brazilian psychopath and a giant Mongolian. Moore is splendidly camp in this high-octane hokum.
