Might be biased here, but this is one of those films (The Princess Bride, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth...) that no matter how far behind you leave it, you'll always go running back there at some point in your less magical adult life. This much overlooked gem tells the story of the adolescent, and slightly obnoxious, Holmes as he attempts to unravel the mystery surrounding a spate of bizarre deaths. Not to spoil the surprises too much, but an hallucinogenic-blowpipe-wielding mofo might be up to something... Competent acting and an all round good show from the public school types ensure you'll keep watching til the end. And boy-oh-boy! The Pyramid! Bit scary for the tots though...
