THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER (1960)
ROGER CORMAN
Plot
One of Roger Corman's earlier adaptations of an Edgar Allan Poe tale finds us in the repressive, claustrophobic Usher household where the occupants have been driven insane by their dark, deep fears and unspeakable lusts. It is the impending wedding of Roderick Usher's sister that finally brings the doomed family to their chilling denouement, a sense of dread enhanced by the blood red art direction and a tight intelligent script. Creepy as!
