The first full length feature to be spawned by the phenomenally (see what I did there?) successful TV series. Opening with a caveman coming to a grisly end after being infected by the blood of an alien, the action fast-forwards to present day Texas, with a young boy meeting the same fate. Before you can say "irrational", Mulder and Scully - now relegated to routine FBI duties - are bogged down in 35,000 year old black extraterrestrial slime. Packed with in-jokes and trademark spooky atmosphere, this should more than satisfy the most ardent afficionados of the show.
