ROMEO AND JULIET (ZEFFIRELLI) (1968)
FRANCO ZEFFIRELLI
Plot
This modish adaptation of Shakespeare's play is successful in one very important respect, the handling of the hot-headed youth of the feuding Verona families. The street brawling scenes are admirable, the film is especially enjoyable for its colour and visual flair and Danilo Donati's costumes are breathtaking. A visually ravishing and faithful adaptation of the Bard's classic.
