HURRICANE STREETS (1998)
MORGAN J FREEMAN
Plot
A thoughtful 'hood drama which won the Audience Award, Best Director and Best Cinematography awards at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival. Fifteen year old Marcus is a semi-streetwise kid from the wrong side of the NY tracks. With his father dead and his mother in prison, he's being raised by his grandma who's ill-equipped to deal with his boredom and petty thieving. Marcus reaches a turning point when he falls in love for the first time, but peer pressure is urging him on to a more dangerous way of life. A quality drama with an ironic twist at the end.
