Tense crime thriller with David Duchovny (The X-Files) as junkie doctor Eugene Sands, out of a job and down on his luck since the death of a patient on the operating table. When a minor mobster gets shot in a seedy nightclub, Eugene goes to his rescue, attracting the attention of mob boss Timothy Hutton, who offers him employment tending the wounds of injured gang members. Pretty soon Eugene's playing God, but he's also playing with fire when he takes a shine to Hutton's gorgeous mistress, and with the Feds closing in it's not long before he's in way over his head. Edgy actioner.
