SABOTEUR (1942)
ALFRED HITCHCOCK
Plot
Hitchcock apparently made this as a trial run for "North by Northwest", and while Robert Cummings is no match for the effortlessly charismatic Cary Grant, the villains are wonderfully nasty. Cummings is the fugitive framed for sabotage at the munitions factory where he works, engaged in a race against the clock to find the Nazi agents responsible before the police find him. Some cleverly tense set pieces, not least of which is the climax atop the Statue of Liberty.
