In "The Disease", Ensign Harry Kim has a passionate love affair with Derran Tal of the Varro species, in violation of interspecies protocol and without Starfleet medical clearance. But when Kim and Tal become biochemically interdependent, it puts the Voyager crew and the Varro species in jeopardy. In "Course:Oblivion", when a mysterious phenomenon cuts short the holographic honeymoon of Tom Paris and B'Elanna, the result is a gradual disintegration not only of Voyager's infrastructure; but also of every crew member. Scarcely believing the cause of the sickness, Janeway orders a panic dash for survival.
