Plot

Dressed up as a "Lambada"-style Latino dance-fest, this would actually be more accurately described as a Cuban "Come Dancing". Young Rafael (Chayanne) leaves a life of poverty and heads for Texas armed with nothing more than a passion for dancing, a tight pair of trousers and a big bouffant hairdo. Tracking down his unsuspecting long-lost dad, who runs a dance school, Rafael wangles a job as general dogsbody and waits for a chance to prove himself. Opportunity knocks when, in the run-up to the Las Vegas Dance-o-rama, a male dancer is taken ill and Rafael is asked to partner the hot but haughty Ruby (disgraced ex-Miss America Vanessa Williams).
