KUHLE WAMPE (1932)
SLATAN DUDOW
Plot
Scripted by Bertolt Brecht, Kuhle Wampe is an unsentimental and veracious slice of realism, which, a camp for the dispossessed, looks at the way a group of working class Berliners react to the depression. A year after the film was released the Nazis banned it and everyone associated with it went into exile. This included Hanns Eisler who wrote the celebrated music score.
